10.29.02: Sushi Rama Three: Those unfamiliar to this Asian tradition will be surprised to know that Sushi-Rama, already three years running, extended from twenty participants on that fateful April day years ago to one hundred and forty. The ingredients were the same (Roasted seaweed beds, crispy cucumbers, sumptuous avocados, a refreshing mix of chilled salmon and tuna, roasted eel, rice palatable with or without a salty addition of soy sauce, and wasabi- “some green stuff” - from the tube. This is of course all wrapped up meticulously, bracing inside bamboo and ready to be cut accordingly.) ... Let’s simply say security was a drastic improvement compared to last year’s detail: Even the bathrooms were checked. And yes, the nine miscreants hiding in the Men’s room were forced to leave. ... Inside, protected from the uproar, painful shrieks and grabby hands, were the executive committee members – with book bags strewn on the tables, sleeves rolled up and hands washed (they were reminded before incident) – who spread the rice, laid the avocados and gutted the fish that you were eating. The Bucket, as it was nefariously known (people followed wherever it went) provided thankfully, enough rice for the hundred some attendants. While others gouged down roll after roll of miniature, Californian and south of the border sushi, ASIA was slitting crabs, compiling ingredient pans, slicing greens, squeezing wasabi and trying to pass plates to tables- if they even made it that far ... geniuses ignored the proper instructions from our members and instead, ate raw meat and vegetables off the plate or manifested “hotdogs” and “personal wads” from those carefully prepared ingredients. Well, it was the end of the day after all and such occurrences provided remarkable photos ... View Narrative

8.18.02: August Moon 2002: A great heap of balloons, showcasing furrows of colors into the sky, was released alongside much banzai and ballyhoo from the spectators. Perhaps they had been restraining their curiosity long enough; they gathered round, attracted by melodious rapture- prying their way through the crowd, as children wedged in front of ice cream trucks. Absent were the curmudgeons and usual protestors- this was all about the gala and celebration, and a glimpse of what was to come during the Nouvelle Année. You will know that Chinatown is in no way a favela; more exactly, it is a bustling neighborhood -Boston's Heart of Asia- with its eccentricities, diverse inhabitants (Vietnamese, Korean, Taiwanese, Cambodian, and Thai to name a few), and broad cultural horizons. Id est, August Moon 2002 was anything but ordinary. View the entire August Moon Narrative.

6.02.03: Undergoing summer renovation. Restoring and proofing website for new webmaster transition, under appropriate terms of service. Site remains out-and-out, wolfyserver.org 2k3 productions property. Asian Night 2003 article is delayed and pictures are pending. A "Subcommittee & Volunteers" section has been added due to members' requests. It is a section separate from Executive Committee and centers around general members and volunteers. The June Monthly Bulletin is in preliminary stages and should be updated this week. A major website update is expected by June 9. All artwork and writing from the Asian Night 2003 Program Booklet will be archived in the ASIA Showcase. Any questions, please leave it in the forums or contact me, james@wolfyserver.org - As a final word, good luck to all applicants for Executive Officer positions. -James

5.14.03: Less than 9 days left towards Asian Night. This week we have many announcements. The Monthly Bulletin will be distributed Thursday morning at the latest. Please click "Asian Night Info" above this news section for the latest in Asian Night information. Our general meeting discussed the End of the Year Event, which will be a beach outing. A thank you party will be given to volunteers on May 29, 2003. Ticket sellers are running out of tickets people! Please reserve your Asian Night tickets before May 16- the deadline. Please also click on the "Announcements" button we feature on the website for deadlines and volunteer opportunities. The subcommittee list and master roster list has been updated. As a final note, thank you to everyone who's been working so hard under such stress. We appreciate your sacrifice and hope Asian Night 2003 will be an immense success! - James Zhang, Webmaster

5.05.02: Program Booklet is 19 pages out of 36 done. Over 50 hours have been spent towards its research, design, and completion. All that really needs work is an original design for the Pre-show, Show, and Acknowledgement section. Website: the "Asian Night Info" section is done with its barebones layout. Many new pictures have been posted: You can, in advance, check out who will be performing and what they will be performing. Ticket sellers are also there. The pictures give you a little taste of booklet, which is obviously going to be great- if not- then I'm going crazy. Picture of the Week will be updated this week! Sorry about that. Also, Meeting Minutes will be updated this week too! (Haven't updated since February 28) Things are becoming quite hectic with APs, finals, and such. But that just means how relaxing it will be when Asian Night comes. Actually, no since there's a lot to do then as well. All my best, James "Going Insane"

5.02.03: Less than three weeks till AN03; it's needless to say that we have much fanfare and surprise planned. On this website, a new feature was added, named "ASIAN NIGHT INFO" above the screen. The latest updates for Asian Night are posted there and very soon, a finished version of the Program Booklet will be available for viewing before Asian Night 2003. Also we have rehearsal pictures, how and where to buy tickets, and the people who are selling them. Picture of the week hasn't been updated for a while; however, we will put many more pictures up as soon as Asian Night preparations are finished. The Monthly Bulletin will for the month of May will be processed next week when we receive our definite dates for the month. This month's bulletin will be three pages long, with the regular bulletin, an Asian Night flyer, and the list of people who are selling tickets. Please visit the ASIA Opinion Box to give comments or suggestions! - James Zhang

4.25.03: Last Sunday, April 20, friends, family, and students of Boston Latin School lost one of their own in a most unfortunate automobile accident. Danqing Fan was a freshmen, and a member of ASIA. We mourn her passing and express our deepest condolences for her family. In bereavement, she joins John Y. and Tam P. and will be remembered forever in our hearts. Because of this unforeseen tragedy, guidance and support will be given at the Boston Latin School the Tuesday after vacation. Please see a guidance counselor if any grievances warrant. We ask those who've known Danqing and fellow students of BLS to take a moment of silence for her. A memorial is planned in remembrance of her life. ASIA dedicates Asian Night 2003 in Danqing Fan's name.

4.17.03: 94% Asian Night 2003 is 34 days away and much work needs to be finished before that night. This website's priority has been raised since potential partakers will need more information, pictures, and reviews. But right now, Program Booklet has the highest priority level and my vacation will be devoted in designing the booklet (36 pages) page by page in Adobe Pagemaker 7. I will also be creating advertisements for our sponsors. Security Passes ar 20% done: meaning I have 79/160 some pictures I need take, not to mention printing them out in colour and laminating them. The Bulletin is going great as our Opinion Box show. Apologizes for third floor receiving partial Bulletins- many were not passed out, however, it is too late in the month to do so. In any case, click the "Monthly Bulletin" button at the top to read the latest ASIA publication. Extra ones are always available in Room #108: Dr. Mendez's office. And as for the Argo's article on ASIA and International Showcase, "Cultural Clubs Promoting Diversity... or Division?" -- this will be addressed promptly after vacation's end. Till then, please keep an open mind.

4.06.03: 93% Site updates have been delayed because of recent events. Asian Night priorities have begun to sink in; also, there are many responsibilities to attend to. But ASIA isn't just about Asian Night. Along these lines, I will be putting in more time on this site: finishing the ASIA tutoring writeup, restoring previous articles, updating the picture of the week section, posting more info about Asian Night, updating the Monthly Bulletin, updating ASIA Showcase, changing announcement, and putting in more people on the Subcommittee list. Aspects of this site that will be delayed indefinitely are Member Profiles, previous Executive Committee profiles, updates to the Forum, and setting up affiliations. The Mission Statement is up for revision, and we may have to employ a charter of some sort. Nonetheless, expect updates- though not daily as before- and some new features. Till then, everyone have a great day. - James, Webmaster BLSASIA03

3.20.02: 92% While the war in Iraq wages on and no matter what your side is, life goes on. School and this club goes on. We are gearing towards Asian Night 2003, and it's surprising how quick the year went by. In further news, Belmont High School is hosting their own Asian Night. As part of a unique community, we invite you to go there yourselves and check out the performances and of course, the free food. Tickets are $5 in advance (Find Edna Chiu HR 125) or $7 at the door. (I think I lost mine already!) It's March 29th, 2003 at 7:30PM. Boston Latin Academy and OB are also hosting Asian Nights. Their dates at the present time are undetermined. Check out the picture of the week section-- are you in there? Every ASIA member should have received a monthly bulletin by tomorrow (sending out 110+ to Class VI, V, and IV.) These are, of course, available in Room #108 (Dr. Mendez's office) or on the button above. More updates to come! - James

3.04.02: 90% Welcome to the grand opening of BLS ASIA 2003's website. After five months in development, this ground-breaking accomplishment in website development hopes to coalesce ASIA activities, its history, and members into one online resource. As you can see, much work was done to make the site look professional. The site is moreover filled with information, news, and opportunities. As Asian Night nears, this site will serve as a forum to make announcements, find out about deadlines, and learn more about previous Asian Nights. Please tell all your friends at school about blsasia.org - they will not be disappointed. Even now, renovations are taking place. All of the newest articles have been posted online; however, older events will take time to retouch and renovate. If you need anything or have any questions, click on Contact Information in the menu. - James, webmaster ASIA

3.02.02 88% Finished many things this weekend on the ASIA site: Updated all the recent articles with corrections and pictures. All recent events have been posted. Only two outstanding events: The Potluck Movie narration and Craft Day with Kim Tong. The ASIA Showcase has been updated. Profiles are still on hold- there's a question of whether having them or not- and that applies to 2003, 2002, and 2001's committee. ASIAN Night is coming; thus, this site will serve as an Asian Night information center. The site is going to launch pretty soon- so there's a lot of work to do. So far, I've spent 88 hours on the ASIA site with all other projects on hold. If you need to contact me for Booklet Signups or anything, give me an email. - James, Webmaster ASIA 2003

2.10.03 84% Started working on the timeline for events & gatherings: the design and layout is the hardest part, not to mention re-typing everything in to fit the look. Many events haven't been ported to the site, and the images and thumbnails will take up so much time. Take August Moon for example, the pictures (easy view) and thumbnails took four to five hours, with around 30 different html pages. On another note, the "Announcements" section has been redone and retouched: that means, you click announcements and a little window pops up. Its brother, the "Subcommittee" button is still in work. Not everyone has submitted the subcommittee information, and this page needs a new layout. As for executive profiles, those will be delayed. Needless to say, 2000-2002 profiles will be delayed further. An erroneous code in the top.html has been fixed: it was there the first day this site launched. Now, all browsers (5.5) included will not get a runtime error. This is a critical fix.  - James "thatbiggbadwolfy", Webmaster

2.07.03: 82% Finished the ASIA 2002-2003 Committee layout; I made new collages for the executive pages. Visitors should benefit from the new, clean layout- it's to lessen confusion, although the menu we have is pretty direct. Speaking of which, on Monday, the members roster list of 2003 (not the latest one) will be uploaded, and so will MM18 and 19. What's new? In ASIA Showcase, three more artworks have been posted. Well they are mine since no one submits anything! If you have poetry, prose, artwork, or stories, please submit them to me! Go to the "Submit Work" button under ASIA Showcase. It doesn't matter if you are in ASIA, or if you are a member of the Boston Latin School. Everyone will have an equal opportunity to showcase their various talents. The front-page, however, will only showcase poetry or prose since pictures will not fit the layout. Also, the forums have been upgraded in security and looks.

2.05.03: 81% Completed the framework of the 2000-2001 Executive Committee layout, and made a new collage for each year. The 2003 page has not been started yet; it will be finished if and only when we finish taking the group picture. Meeting Minutes 18 and 19 will be added tomorrow on the 6th, there might be an ASIA Bulletin (continued from previous years), and I am correcting erroneous code found throughout the site. The new 2003 Members Roster list will be made once I receive via email. As a note, this layout is not final: it is merely experimental. The final ASIA site will look much better than this. This is revision 3 out of 8. For general members: please sign up for Asian Night jobs and positions. You can help out in a variety of ways. For my dining staff, I have 17 volunteers, but I need more than just one for the program booklet. Any questions, you know the drill: forums, IRL, email, AIM, HR125. - James "thatbiggbadwolfy", Webmaster

2.03.03:  81% Just finished the 2002 Executive Committee layout; the 2001 and 2003 ones will immediately follow its lead. The look is simple and clean, and I used pictures for the names, instead of plain text. I will finish 2002's profiles tomorrow. And I will upload the new Meeting Minutes 18+19. Executive officers: Check the Meeting Minutes section of the site for updates and resources. ASIA Agenda templates and letter templates are there with the experimental logo if you would like to change your look. I will bring up the ASIA showcase at the meeting to my group. Grand opening seems far away, since I am going to restore Adrian and Andre's site, the ASIA folder is 50mbs already without those two sites. A lot of work, I think I will need to get more than 2 hours of sleep a day. In any case, please email me, call me, or drop a line in the forums if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. - James "thatbiggbadwolfy", Webmaster

2.03.03: This site is being polished and restored for the grand-opening, its date is undetermined at this point. 3/5 recent events have had write-ups submitted and their pages are almost done, a graphical approach needs to be applied hereon. Happy Chinese New Year to those who celebrate it, and same for the Vietnamese New Year. Expect daily updates from now on since the site has just been granted priority on the wolfyserver.org 2k3 project list. Sing-Off 2002 was great, and the article is just missing the pictures. Thanks to everyone who's participated in the forums; we hope to see you often. A note for executive officers: the meeting minutes page has been completed. Meeting Minutes from Wendy will be posted shortly online, for an archived collection of information. If you have forgotten your password or are in need of a new one, please email the webmaster using the verified email on the contacts page, or contact me in person, on phone, etc. - James, webmaster

11.21.02: The UMASS Orientation was a great experience for all and gave out some interesting pointers about the college itself and the admissions process. You can talk about it more with Lily (XxLilyxX) in the ASIA forums. Sing-off Performer Auditions flyers go out tomorrow. A couple more are being made at this moment. Nellie, Vivian and I went to City Hall to fix and print out the final design for the Sing-Off 2002 ticket. Mrs. Lo was so nice! Thanks to everyone down in the printing room who helped out! Hah, it was a bit challenging running Photoshop 7 on that computer. Newest updates for this website include ASIA Showcase: 3 more entries were added. Stacy is actually drawing the graphic for the front page of the Sing-Off program booklet. The back of the booklet is already finished. Member profiles are being made at this moment, please be patient if yours is not up yet. ASIA member rosters are being compiled at this moment to post on the site. Again, the current layout is not compatible with the 3 year old Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape browsers under version 6. Please refer to the Help and Support section. If you would like to submit any artwork or prose, please click the "Submit" button in the menu. I'll be in the forums if you need any help or have questions. - James

11.10.02: Sushi-Rama Three Narration has been completed. Next item: Chinatown Festival 2002 to restore. The next activity to be featured on the ASIA website is the 2002 Sing-off. The profiles have been updated and erroneous html code have been corrected. I gave the forums a slight makeover- the buttons are brand new and were made in photoshop. And since Lisa asked so nicely, I've put around 60 new emoticons (smiley-faces) for people to use. The guestbook is next to be done. No use for a newspro actually- the forums and this page is sufficient. No one really posts any news anyways. I'm hoping to have a new picture taken of the 2003 committee since some executive officers weren't present in the black and white photo. Also, it is because the photo itself is extremely pixilated; even PS7 can't change that. The general meeting is in the chorus room for those who weren't notified. This Tuesday. The emails list is completed. I think only a few names are flagged- that is some information is incomplete, outdated or non-working (the hotmail emails). For any questions or comments, please log into the forums and PM (Personal Message) me. Be sure to register. You aren't restricted to just ASIA forums. That, I know, is unpopular. Try the wolfyserver.org forums for more interesting discussions. I am changing the link on the front page to redirect to the main forums.  -James

11.10.02: Site completion will be delayed another two weeks in place of wolfyserver.org 2k3 construction. A new layout is 40% complete (preview it @ www.wolfyserver.org ) and much is expected from the redesign. This is to build my portfolio for hotjobs and moreover, to show how my abilities have evolved. Also, this year I will be participating in the f.h.a.o. seevak website competition. My team is myself, Bo Ye, and Johnathan Yee. That won't be much of a burden since I have five stock layouts lined up already. By Tuesday, all the Sushi-Rama Three pictures should be up and most of the profiles completed. The Showcase is suspended until further notice. For those experiencing errors while browsing the site, please refer to the Help and Support section. On another note- finally, someone posted in the forums. The ASIA Forums have been quiet lately, well since no one really knows about the site yet. On the other hand, the ws2k3 forums have been quite busy with 800 topics in Freestyle Lounge itself. If you want to talk about ASIA, do so in the ASIA 2k3 forums. If not, like there's something else on your mind, the wolfyserver.org 2k3 forums should suit you fine. Upcoming sub-forums due to demand: K-pop and Anime/Manga forums. Please PM me in the forums for comments.  -James

11.05.02: Executive Committee members: Please return any remaining profile sheets you may have left lying around. There are at least 4 of them. Additionally, register in the forums! If we are to get a community, the staff needs to be present first. The url is www.wolfyserver.org/forums or simply click the link in the menu. When you register, fill out your profile (birthday, interests, and whatnot) and select your avatar picture. There are, again, 530 to choose from. And if you have any news, please email them to me or hand it in person, for me to type up and post. This will be done for now, since newspro isn't set up- and there really isn't any need without much news... There's no need for a guestbook now, so that's delayed. Priority goes to Sushi-Rama Three, Contact Information, Profiles, and ASIA Showcase. Estimated time of completion for entire site (excluding newspro and guestbook) is 2 weeks. Tell everyone about this site! And Andrei, we need to redirect the .org URL. Site statistics show around ten visitors per day, which is all-right for now. After the iframe banner exchange goes up and site is submitted to search engines, expect at least 100 a day.  -James

11.03.02: Missed the deadline. The site really takes a lot work! As for now, I'm polishing up the Sushi-Rama Three Article. The narrative is finished and was sent for Argo Friday. So expect to see something about Sushi-Rama on the November 9th issue. The one on the site is the unedited, full version. What needs to be done is putting the pictures on. A total of 26 pictures were taken by me and Wendy using the Zeiss lens Sony camera. Like last time, the easy-view pictures method will be used. Those unfamiliar: a thumbnail is on the narrative page and visitors click to have a window pop-up containing the full sized image, a brief description, and buttons to cycle through the rest of the archive. Newspro hasn't been done yet. The forums are developing rather quickly, well- not the ASIA one yet. As for avatars (pictures next to usernames), Monday's upload will add 351 new ones to archive. That totals about 500 avatars in the forums. The showcase is going well, all the templates are done, just need submissions. Concerning profiles: I haven't received many, and the ones that will be using information from the old site will be delayed. The .org URL will be redirected to wolfyserver.org/blsasia. -James

10.29.02: Pardon the the setback- the ASIA main page was unavailable from this afternoon onwards because of misplaced html files. Please excuse any inconvenience. The ASIA Showcase is coming along nicely with quite a few submissions. We always need more! Profiles are being created at this moment. The August Moon Narration has been completed and further work is closed. Next event to post: Sushi Rama Three. Committee pages are still under construction. Newspro not available at this moment. The forums on wolfyserver's part are becoming rather busy. Please register and post a message on behalf of ASIA! We have currently 54 wolfyserver.org 2k3 forum members. Note the forums have just started up. The PHP guestbook is indefinitely delayed since no one really signs it. The primary focus is to port previous articles into 2k3 format. Release date is still November 1st unless other wise noted. Thank you for your support. - James, webmaster of wolfyserver.org IE6+ and 1024*768 Resolution Required to view menu and website properly. 10.19.02: Finally a layout I'm proud of. My OCD has compelled me to switch between nine designs for this page. And in the end, I believe I've accomplished my goal of combining 2k3 style with elegance. The colours are eye pleasing and the layout looks simple enough; that is, to the eye. The page page itself has six frames, a dozen layers, and over twenty hours of photoshop. Notice that with the exception of modified stock photos, everything is pure CG photoshop graphics. The azure background took four hours itself. The only problem right now is bandwidth. The ASIA page eats around 5 mbs of bandwidth for every thorough visit and I've used up 3000mbs of wolfyserver.org bandwidth in under fifteen days. Nonetheless, there is a solution to everything- the hosting plan has been upgraded to 6gbs bandwidth with 400mbs of space. Now with the August Moon done, there is yet much work to do. I need to port all the articles into this layout- meaning if August Moon 2002 took six hours, then two dozen more articles will consume a considerable amount of time. The 10.19.02 layout has yet to be shown to the committee. And I'd like to thank James Zhen for using a very nice camera for the August Moon pictures. Even I can't save the pixilated images from the previous events. More updates to come. - James webmaster wolfyserver.org

10.15.02: Pardon the rushed layout. I could do much better photoshop; however, the content needs to go up in this case. Aesthetics will have to wait. Just spent around four hours finishing the August Moon 2002 layout. Graphics aren't that great, I know. And the square tables will change- count on that. What else? The forums are working fine. Server space is a-ok with enough bandwidth on wolfyserver.org- still need the files and information for blsasia.org server. I changed the menu so everyone can view it properly, even though it looks so much better on true-type! This site has been tested with windows xp professional and has no problems. I'll be transporting the articles from the cjb.net site and formatting it accordingly for blsasia 2k3. Any questions, read the Help and Support section under Admin Console. Or, send me some mailage. Don't forgot to participate in sushi-rama in two weeks! - James, webmaster of wolfyserver.org IE6+ and 1024*768 Resolution Required to view menu and website properly. This website is designed for broadband. Copyright 2002 wolfyserver.org 2k3 A.R.R.

10.08.02: This project is coming along nicely. PHP Guestbook, and multimedia section to do next. For now, the forums will be hosted by wolfyserver.org- until hosting is provided by the committee. ws2k3 is temporary until blsasia.org is bought and paid for. The menu is the major achievement. Layout still not finished. All the artwork will be original CG photoshop or modified stock photos.

10.02.02: Club fair. I brought my Alienware for the Website Art & Design presentation. Andrei talked to me. Plans are set for a new site.

Below are Andrei's News Bulletins, Next Webmaster: James Zhang
