ASIA Opportunities: BLS Student PaperDrive: As we and participating clubs send out hundreds of notices, you can support your school by donating packets of unopened 200-500 sheets of printer paper to Dr. Mendez’s office in Room #108. Write your name on the packet so we may thank you later on. Given the fiscal budget crisis and the school’s current situation, it is now up to the students to make sure that “no child is left behind.

1) Girls’ Day at the Computer Clubhouse: Mondays 2:00-5:30 p.m. @ Intel Computer Clubhouse Network, Museum of Science, Boston FREE 617-589-0271 “A chance for girls aged 10-18 .. to explore state of the art computers & software and to experiment and develop computer-based projects. Opportunities to work closely with adult mentors who are educators, artists, graduate students, and technologists.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
1) PROJECT BREAD The Church of All Nations, 333 Tremont Street, Boston (near Chinatown): Saturday 10am-2pm, Sunday 1pm-5pm. Serve the community by passing out dishes, preparing food, or by greeting the unfortunate. A very rewarding and gracious experience. 2) AHEAD TUTORING Mondays-Thursdays 3-6p.m. RW Emerson School, Roxbury. Eligible Students can get paid $9.10/hr for their community service through AmericaReads or AmericaCounts. Contact Ed Stone, estone@fas.harvard.edu.

3) DONATE USED TEXTBOOKS Collect books and send them to Bridges for Learning, a nonprofit organization that sends books to schools in Jamaica, the Philippines, and other parts of the world. Call Nancy for more information: 617 349 8942 or email nrichrds@mail.lesley.edu
